BCSD Delays In-Person Instruction

BCSD Delays In-Person Instruction Until Feb. 1, 2021
Posted on 01/12/2021

The Binghamton City School District made the decision to have students not return to our school buildings following the winter break because of the pending threat of an increase to the number of positive COVID cases in the City of Binghamton, and subsequently, an increase in positive cases among students and employees.

While we have not realized a significant increase in positive cases among employees, we have seen an increase in both the city and amongst our student population. While the increase has appeared to peak, it has not yet decreased to the level prior to moving to full remote instruction.

Due to the continuation of a high level of positive cases within the community, the Binghamton City School District will delay in-person learning for an additional two weeks, and begin in-person instruction on Monday, Feb. 1.
