The IRS is reaching out to America’s school districts to request their partnership in disseminating information about the
Advance Child Tax Credit Payments in 2021, which could provide families, financial assistance of up to $1,800 per qualifying child. These payments are made automatically to taxpayers who qualified on their 2019 or 2020 tax returns.
Their current outreach efforts are focused on low income families who may not be receiving these payments because they don’t have a tax filing requirement. To resolve this, the IRS has developed the
Non-filer Sign-up Tool that can help these families receive the Advanced Child Tax Credit payments and help them get the
third round of Economic Impact Payments (EIP). These payments could prove to be a great relief to families struggling to make ends meet.
Please note the Non-filer Sign-up Tool will no longer be accessible after Oct. 15, 2021.
